Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Florida & Washington, D.C.

In private practice, I focus on individuals who have experienced trauma and those who struggle to navigate today’s high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

My Therapeutic Approach and Style

I do not believe one therapeutic approach fits all. My therapeutic style is tailored according to your needs, wants, experiences and strengths. It is my role to meet you where you are. As we get to know each other, we will work towards finding the style that feels most comfortable. Think of me as your “guide on the side.”  Together, we will uncover inherent strengths, identify maladaptive patterns and acquire new skills that enable you to effectively deal with life’s challenges.

About Therapy

Therapy is a very dynamic and collaborative process. As such, the outcome of your treatment will depend on your willingness to engage in the process, and your receptiveness to change. It is not uncommon to resist change, but it is common to feel worse before you feel better, especially as we process difficult subjects. This may tempt you to prematurely stop treatment. If you are feeling this way, please bring it to my attention so that we can find a solution together.

The length of your treatment can vary depending on the severity of difficulties you present. We will constantly assess and adjust the length of your treatment based on your pace, progress and identified goals. Many people enter into therapy with a hope for immediate relief and results, but unfortunately, there aren’t any quick “fixes or cures.”

A successful therapy experience does not mean a client has been “fixed” or “cured.” I do not like this language because it implies that someone is broken or sick, when they absolutely are not. The efficacy of therapy is not always measured in metrics or something tangible. Together, we will determine what successful therapy looks like to you.

My Virtual Office, Forms of Payment and Rates

I no longer offer in-person appointments. I am 100% virtual. For telehealth appointments, we will use a HIPAA complaint interface called “Simple Practice.” It does not cost you anything to download or use. Unfortunately, I am private pay only. I do not accept insurance, but I can provide you with the documentation for insurance reimbursement. My standard rate for a 50-minute session is $180. I accept most major credit cards (except for Amex) and most forms of electronic payment such as Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or Square. Payment is due in full at the time of appointment.

How do we start working together?

w

1) Request a Consult

Unsure if I am the right therapist? I offer a free phone or video consultation to determine if we are a mutual fit. It’s completely confidential and at no cost to you.

2) Book an Appointment

If we decide to move forward, I will send you a link to my patient portal, where you can request an appointment.

3) Complete Intake Paperwork

These forms can be found on the patient portal. Please submit them prior to coming in for your first session.

3) Your 1st Session

The purpose of the first few sessions is to get to know one another. At your pace, we will discuss your history, current situation and concerns, and identify your goals for therapy.
